OX BEEF VERY FIRM, AVERAGE AI/L-ROUND YARDING. The outstanding feature of to-day's sales at Westlield was a number of exceptionally heavy steers. Extra choice ox sold to 27/ per lwlb; choice and prime, 23/ to 20/; secondary and plain, 18/ to 22/; prime young cot and lieifer beef, 24/ to 26/; secondary, 18/ to 23/. Heavy-prime steers ranged in price from £9 15/ to £10 17/6; lighter. £8 10/ to £9 10/; light, £7 10/ to £ 7/6; small and unfinished; £4 10/ to £5 10/. Extra heavy prime young cows ana heifers £7 to £7.10/, for cows torn Messrs. Reid Bros., Opotiki; heavy, 10/ to £0 15/; lighter, £4 to £o 5/; otllt ' killable cows,, £2 to £3 10/.
