WEATHER FORECAST.
FOR CITY AND PROVINCE. The Government Meteorologist issued to the "Auckland Star" this afternoon the following special weather forecast for the Auckland Province to as far south as Tauranga, Kawhia and Hamilton: — "Moderate to strong westerly winds, backing to southerlies. Weather cold and changeable, with rain at times. Seas moderate to rather rough. A depression is now passing eastwards off New Zealand, and an anti-cyclone is approaching across the Tasnian Sea. Hauraki Gulf Conditions. The following report of weather conditions in the Hauraki ftulf was received from Tiritiri Island at noon to-day:— Wind, west-sou'-west, fresh; sea moderate; weather cloudy, with passing showers; visibility fair; barometer rising. For thu Dominion. For 24 hours from 9 a.m. this day:— The indications are for moderate to strong westerlies, backing to south. Weather probably cold and changeable, with rain probable at times. Barometer rising. Sens moderate.
