The outstanding batting feats in the series of county cricket matches, which began on Saturday, were centuries by C.' J. Barnett and C. C. Dacre in the same innings for Gloucestershire. They were playing against Warwickshire, at Bristol. Three bowlers had successful games, getting wickets in both innings. They were:—A. W. Wellard (Somerset), Jas. Parks (Sussex) and Harold Larwood (Notts). Results and principal performances: — Middlesex: First innings, 102 (Robins 77; Clark seven for 08); second, 278 (Compton 87). Northamptonshire: First innings, OS (Robins four for 15, Smith five for 21) ; second, 119 (Sims five for 20). Middlesex won by 283 runs. Surrey: First innings, 101 (Hopwood seven for 53); second, seven for 331, declared (Sandham 73, Fishlock 71). Lancashire: First innings, 304 (Watson 101); second, none for 25. Lancashire won on the first innings. Essex: First innings, 171 (Voce five for 54, Larwood four for 47) ; second, 106 (Larwood five for 30). Notts: First innings, 77 (Nichols nine for 32); second, none for 201 (Keeton 115 not out, Harris 81 not out). Notts won by 10 wickets.

Leicestershire: First innings, 133 (Jas. Parks five for 38); second, seven for 250, declared (Jas. Parks five for 7G). Sussex: First innings, 181; second, two for 07. Sussex won on the first innings. Kent: First innings, 105 (Wellard seven for 01); second, 203 (Wellard five for 77). Somerset: First innings, 140 (Todd six for 45); second, 150 (Freeman seven for 58). Kent won by 00 runs. Gloucestershire: First innings, eight for 453, declared (Burnett 132, Dacre 119). Warwickshire: First innings, 109 (Sinfield five for 47); follow-on, 107 (Goddard seven for 55). Gloucestershire won by an innings and 117 runs. Hampshire: First innings, 150 (Clay five for 34); second, 233 (Clay six for 88). Glamorgan: First innings, 111 (Creese four for 30, Hill four for 42); second, 131 (Boves six for 43). Hampshire won by 147 runs.
