MODEL 'PLANE.
SIX FEET IN LENGTH. FLIGHT AT MANGERE. Built by two members of the Auckland Model Aeroplane Club, Messrs. I. Chinnery Brown and F. Mac Donald, a model aeroplane, said to be the largest yet flown in the Dominion, made a successful flight at the Mangere Aerodrome on Sunday afternoon. The machine is omy six feet long, weighs but six and threequarter pounds, and is driven by a petrol engine developing one-fifth horse-power. The cylinder is about the size of the average thumb of a man, and the propeller is driven at COOO revolutions a minute. The machine took nearly 12 months to build and is capable 011 a full tank of making a flight of half an hour's duration. On Sunday the model behaved splendidly and at a height of 70ft circled the aerodrome. When exhibited at the recent Waikato Winter Show the model created considerable interest.
