SOCIAL GATHERINGS.

Tho private room of George Court's tea rooms was prettily decorated yesterday, when Mrs. Page held a bridge party. The guests included: Meedames McGill, Miller, Gardiner, Gratton, Wateon, Clark, Gladding, Weir, Cornea. Montgomery, Finlay, Woods, Done], Willie, B.iinliridge, John stone, Chadwick,' Brown, Teape and Cowie.

■ The Contact Social Club hold their usual weekly social in Quest Club Rooms recently. The president, Mrs. Milnr, presided and welcomed members and friends. Mrs. Cullen acted as master of ceremonies for dancing , and games and Mr. Hinton arranged tha card tables. The time was happily spent, the pleasure being due in no small measure to Mrs. Adams 1 ,, -\vife of the vicar of St. George, who-played both accompaniments and dance Hluaie. Mr. Millaise and Mr. Culloii rendered vocal items. Miss Bradbury, secretary for the club, presented Miss Milur with a lovely bouquet in honour of her birthday.

An enjoyable time was spent on Monday, /vyhen a kitchen evening was tendered to Miss Beryl Beet, of Helensville,. Avhose marriage is to take place shortly. Bridge, 500 a7id dancing occupied the best part of the evening. After supper the Rev. Parsons presented the,. guest of honour on behalf of her many friends, with many useful gifts. The winners of bridge were Mrs. McLean (Auckland) and Mr. M. H. Sheffield, and the winners of 500 were Mrs. Logan McLeoc 1 ana the Rev. Parsons. ''Aoiong- thost! present were: Meedames N.
