PERFORMING RIGHTS.
POSITION OF B STATIONS. MR. SAVAGE EMPHATIC. (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. Asked this morning what would be the position of B stations as far as the claims of the Performing Rights Association were concerned, the Prime Minister, the Hon. M. J. Savage, said that was a question for Government consideration. "Our aim and our legislation," he said, "is for the establishment of a national service, and anybody outside of New Zealand making any claim will have the Government to deal with. We cannot call it a national service if somebody from outside is allowed to torpedo us." Mr. Savage said that B stations would be essentially part of the national service.
