Considerable difficulty was experienced by motorists during the week-end in crossing a short section of clay on the main Hamilton-Rotorua road near the Arapuni turn-off. The soft patch is a portion of the deviation being constructed at the top of the steep hill on the Rotorua eido of the turn-off. A number of cars were held up.
