VISIT TO AUCKLAND.
HEALTH TRIP TO SYDNEY. « COUNTRY PROSPERING." Her Majesty Queen Salote, of Tonga, was a visitor to Auckland yesterday and to-day on her way to Sydney by the Aorangi. She was accompanied by His Royal Highness, the Prince Consort, and by a lacly-in-walting, Prrncess Fetutuki Oneone.
On the arrival of tlie Aorangi Major A. F. Purvis, M.C., military secretary to the Governor-General, Viscount Galway, went on board and conveyed the regards of Plis Excellency. Commodore the Hon. E. R. Drummond, Commodore of tho New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy, also conveyed the respects of the Navy. Queen Salote is visiting Australia and possibly later New Zealand on a health trip, and will be away from her country for a period of over six .weeks. Yesterday she was confined to her cabin, and could not grant audiences to Press representatives. Prince Tugi, however, in giving an audience, said that the kingdom of Tonga was at tlie present time prospering, owing to the recovery in the value of copra and the fruit industry. Recently the islands had been suffering severe "rain storms —as heavy as any within his memory—and the yam crops had suffered considerably.
