SMART WINTER FASHIONS.

Although the sun shone brilliantly to-day it was fairly cold in the shade, and the frockfng at fhe last day of the Auckland Racing Club's winter meeting showed a large percentage of warm overcoats. These were mostly furtrimmed, especially when featuring dressy lines. The belted tweeds' had smart scarves, as their trimming.. Hate again featured pointed and folded crowns, and were-in" felt and velour. Velvet was seen in maiiy of the most chic berets; Green in ail shades was a favourite, as also was maroon and brown. These colours were all to be seeiv both in plain materials and in flecked tweeds. Among those present were:— Mrs. H. M. Rogerson, black and white necked tweed, wine toned hat; Mrs. G.
