POINTS FROM LETTERS.
COLD SCHOOLROOMS. Won't you give school committees and everyone concerned a reminder to see that the schools have good fires? Imagine sitting with open windows trying to write anywhere in the King Country on a frosty morning. A small stove fire at the other end of the room is not very comforting. Bad enough if you are outside of a good breakfast and inside really warm clothing, but sometimes it is not like that. I have known a teacher on extra bitter days ordering all cardigans off. She acted in mistaken kindness, believing they would then be of more benefit outside. She did not notice that in some cases the cardigan was the only warm garment worn, nor realise that cold is worse when one is still. I am not anxious to rush into print, but can you print a few lines to make people decide to warm up the schools in winter? AN OLDER FRIEND.
