LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
ENGLISH TEAM IN SYDNEY. "AMBASSADORS OF GOOD WILD" SYDNEY, May 26. The English Rugby League team arrived in Sydney to-day and attended a civic reception. The Loixl Mayor, Mr. A. Howie, described the players as "ambassadors of good will." The team had a run on the Sydney Cricket Ground in the afternoon. The tour opens with a match against Sydney clubs on Saturday and the last game in Australia is fixed for July 20. JUNIOR MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE At the meeting of the junior management committee of the Auckland Rugby League last evening, Mr. E. Chapman presided. The nomination of a second grade team by the Manukau club was approved. It was decided to admit a new Papakura seventh grade team, composed of Manurewa players, to play the sixth grade bye team pending the start of the second round. Owing to teams being out of order the following matches, were awarded: Papakura thirds v. Green Lane, to Papakura; Marist thirds v. Newton B, to Mariste; Avondale sixths v. Green Lane, to Avondale; Glenora sevenths v. Ellerslie, to Glenora.. • Owing to Waiuku playing C. Bright, a senior Newton.Raligers' player, .who.had not been regraded, the senior B* match,, in which Waiuku defeated Papakura by 7—6 on Saturday, was awarded to Papakura. Witiuku 'were reported to have understood that Bright, not having pjayed last season, \Was in, ordel*. Arising,out of an inquiry into a -third grade match incident, it was stated that spectators so encroached on th'e grdufids at Point Oheyaiier -that the .parks committee was considering, poping off the grounds involved. * • • Regrades: F. H. Cullum, R.V., seconds to thirds; F.S Mitchell, . Point: Chevalier sixths to sevenths; H.• Heaps, Glenora ■seconds to thirds. Transfers: I. Flavell, Waiuku to Newton reserves: R. Thompson, City thirds to Point Chevalier: W. Edgar, thirds to Mount Albert; L. G. Lockie, Mount Albert fifths to Richmond. There were seven new; registrations.
