NAVY LEAGUE.
%The Auckland Girls' branch of the Navy League gave a dance in the Catholic Women's League rooms last evening for the entertainment of a number of men- from the visiting French sloop. Flags of all nations adorned the room, where dancing took place, and masses of hydrangeas and ferns adorned the orchestral dais. On arrival the guests' were received by the president, Mrs. H; R. Shera, who wore a frock of black crepe de chine and souple satin. The president of the ladies' branch, the Lady Evelyn Drummond, was also present, and wore a frock of midnight blue chiffon velvet. Accompanying her was Miss Jean Drttmriioh.d, who wore smoke blue floral chiffon.
Members' of the girls' committee present were: Miss Ethel Lintott, who wore ecru Chantilly lace; Miss Barbara Roberts, primrose georgette; Miss Nellie Cashin, Lido blue njoss crepe; and Miss Jess Niehols, dusky.spjnk crepe. Others presents, were: Mrs. MiAnthony, Misses Jean Nichols, Inez Melville; Phyllis liiman;. Dorothy Aughtoh, Beryl Webster, Mona Cashin, Evelyn James, Rence Finn, F. Cooke, Ruth Clarke, Mabel Read, G. Wootton, Esther Beaver, Adele Grieves.
