J. F. DEVLIN V. J. W. NEALE TO-NIGHT'S CONTEST AT SCOTS HALL. To-night at the Scots Hall, Symonds Street, for the first time since Badminton has been played in New Zealand, an opportunity will be given of seeins an overseas professional player of note In action apiinst the best that the Dominion can produce. .T. I>\ Devlin lifts lieen described as the world's foremost badminton player, and his imposing record of successes in England, the home of organised badminton, would appear to bear this out. To-night's contests will nfTord an opportunity of comparing the standard of play in the Dominion wltli that overseas. In the singles Devlin will be opposed by .T. W. Neale, Dominion singles title-holder, who has come from Wellington for the purpose of meeting the visitor. Although it is too much to expect that the New Zealand player will prove successful, he should be able to force Devlin to produce his best form. Interesting doubles and combined doubles matches are Included on the programme, and badminton of a standard not previously seen In Auckland should bo witnessed. Other Auckland players participating are It. Hull, joint holder with J. W. Neale of the Dominion doubles title, SI. T. Wilson, Miss J. Ramsay and Mrs. Wren.
