DARGAVILLE VISIT. ■ RECHABITES' ANNIVERSARY. LODGE INSTALLATIONS. Last month, a team from tho Auckland District 1.0.0. F. journeyed to Te „ Kopuru to install the officers of the Northern Wairoa lodge. Tho team were I met at Dargaville by Bro. Paton, , D.D.G.M., and welcomed by Bro. Kidd, G.L.R., and officers. On the arrival i of Bro. Guy, grand master, Bros. Gray and Hooper, I'.G.M.'s, and Bro. Arnott, D.D.G.M., Auckland District, tho instal- | lation of officers was proceeded with. , Bro. M. Hooper, P.G.M., was installing , ollicer, and, after investing tho junior . past grand, called upon Bro. Gray to oflicintc. The ceremony was carried | out in a very impressive and digniliod manner, the team individually being . well versed in their various charges. On Bro. Gray's invitation the duties of the " r appointed officers were explained to ' them by Bro. Arnott, D.D.G.M. Short addresses wore then given and congratulations from the senior visiting : officers. The newly installed N.G. reciprocated the greetings from the rep- ; resentatives of the lodges present. A special vote of thanks was accorded Bro. T. A, Kidd, the retiring secretary, for his splendid work during his several years in that office. As soon as lodge closed the northern brothers put on one of their well-famed suppers, the evening closing with song and story. The visitors were then taken by bus to the boacli, several miles distant, where they enjoyed some hot toheroa soup. After more exchanges of experiences, intermingled with songs and yarns, the Auckland members retired to rest. Early next morning some of the stalwarts had a swim, and after breakfast the party spent a happy time on the beach, fishing, etc. Home was reached about !> p.m. Thus ended one of the most enjoyable and successful visits yet undertaken by the Auckland district. The officers who were installed into the chairs of the Northern Wairoa Lodge wore: J.P.G.. Bro. S. E. Fransen; N.G., Bro. R. A. Martin; vice-grand, Bro. E. T. Kidd; warden, Bro. F. Fransen; conductor, Bro. K. Fitzhenriz; chaplain, Bro. T. Pitoni; R.S.S., Bro. F. Campbell; L.S.S., Bro. F. Walker; 1.G., Bro. C. Leahoiirne; C.G., Bro. J. Fernandez; musician, Bro. C'has. Leabourne; R.S.N.G., Bro. G. Dunn; L.S.N.G., Bro. J. Kidd; R.S.V.G., Bro. F. Wordsworth; L.S.V.G., Bro. M. Dickson. Tho star of Newmarket Lodge, U.A.0.D., met as usual in the Council Chambers Lodge room, tho A.D., Bro. 1 1IiII,1iII, presiding over a large attendance of members and visitors. The latter included the officers and members of the Light of Manukau Lodge, who visited officially, also Bro. Belts (Christchurcli) and Bro. Briorly (Wellington). All of these received a true Druidic welcome, responses being made during tho liar- * mony session. The business was chiefly of a routine nature, and received prompt attention. Tho members then adjourned for supper and harmony. A very good programme was given, and all present spent a most enjoyable evening.

The youthful Enterprise Juvenile Temple, 1.0. G.T., met on Thursday evening, the chief templar, Sister M. Cavana, presiding over a fair attendance. A welcome was extended to Sister Mrs. Henricksen, a former assistant superintendent, who is in Auckland on a health visit. Various routine matters were discussed and several members reported on the sick list. At the close of the mooting tho young people had a happy time with games. < • • The Loyal Jubilee Lodge, M.U., 1.0.0. F., met in the Regent ball room, Paeroa, on Tuesday last, the N.G., Bro. 11. Ulytli, presiding over a large attendance of members and visitors. Added interest was given to the meeting by the presence of Bro. W. F. Bates, of To Arolia, the newly appointed group ollicer, who received an official welcome. A warm greeting was also extended to representatives from Loyal Papakura, Waihi, Hot Springs and Rotorua Lodges. In the course of his reply Bro. Bates stated that the group ritual competition would be held this time at Waikino on May 15, and the group installation at Waihi on June 10. A very interesting address on the work of the Thames Valley Past Grands' Lodge was given by P.G., Bro. McQuillan, who received the thanks of the lodge. The secretary, Bro. Webb, reported that juvenile members were now being enrolled, a satisfactory response being experienced. The evening closed with tho serving of a dainty supper, followed by a social hour.

The Ponsonby Lodge. U.A.0.D., held its usual meeting on Monday last in the Druids' Hall, Newton, Bro. W. Goodwin, arch-druid, presiding over a good attendance. The members learned with regret of tho death of Bro. Wallaco Massey, P.A., a charter member of tho lodge, and a motion of sympathy was extended to the relatives, the lodge members standing in silence. The usual business was transacted in a speedy but efficient manner, and at tho closo supper was enjoyed. The evening closed with several good games of indoor bowls.

The Gordon Tout, T.0.T?., celebrated its .list anniversary on Tuesday evening witli a social ami dance in tlie Friendly Societies' Hall, Grey Street, Onehunga. Visitors were present in good numbers from most of the Rechabite tents of the district, in addition to many friends. The chief ruler, Bro. Trevor Ashe, extended a welcome to the visitors and then handed over to th'i M.C., Bro. G. Archer. A programme of vocal and instrumental items was first presented, each item being of a high quality. Master Ballard gave some violin solos. Miss Polkinghorne and Mr. V. Archibald songs. Miss M. Hisrsrins, Misses G. Pace and .Toan ITodder elocutionary items and Mr. Bradley stepdancing. After the concert programme had been thoroughly enjoyed and games played. supper was served. The remainder of the evening was spent in dancing, which brought a very happy and successful anniversary to a close. • • » • The Kawnkawa Oddfellows have lost another of their members through removal from the district, in the person of Bro. V. Shaw, and at a recent social gathering opportunity was taken to farewell this popular member. P.A.. Bro. A. McCrcady. O.fj.R., on behalf of the members asked Bro. Shaw to accept a gold safety razor as a slight token of Ihe appreciation of the brethren for services rendered. Bio. McCreadv also assured Bro. Shaw that he carried with him the very best wishes of the lodge for his future welfare. Bro. Shaw responded in appropriate terms. The evening was spent with indoor .-rentes, quoits, cards, etc., whilst a nice supper gave the crowning touch to a pleasant gathering. '

With deputations from 10 lodges Loyal Mount Albert Lodge (M.U.) had their half-yearly visitation last iodge night and a most enjoyable social function resulted. Delegates were present from Good Intent, Dominion, Remuera, Ponsonby, Avon, Franklin, Waimauku, Lynn dale, St. Helier's and Howick. P.D.G.M., Bro. J. Allan, group officer, and P.G., Bro. J. Gray, district trustee, were present, while the lodge was presided over by N.G., Sister M. Insley. Following the conferring of the honours of the order and replies by visiting delegates, an enjoyable dance was held, excellent music being supplied by the lodge orchestra (five instruments) under I\G., Bro.
