WEIGHT-LIFTING.
FURTHER RECORDS PUT UP. At Elliott's Bar-801l Club, Onohunga, under the auspices of the New Zealand Weight-Lifters' Association on Sunday, Rois La Force, professional welter-weight and middle-weight wrestling champion of New Zealand, established the following New Zealand professional lightweight records:— Right hand bent press, 1561b. Pull over and press legs straight, 1811b. Pull over and press in shoulder bridge, 2211b. The tests were refereed by Mr. J. Elliott, hon. secretary of the N.Z.W.L.A. La Force, who weighs lOst 41b, is considered the strongest man in New Zealand at- his weight, and after having been away in the King Country for a few years is back in Auckland looking for wrestling matches this season. He is getting himself ,in good condition by indulging in regular weight-lifting and mat work, and is prepared to defend his titles against all comers.
