NEW ZEALANDER'S VICTORY. luttrell too good for BRANDER, KNOCK-OUT IN THRILLING FIGHT. (Received 0.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. At the Leichhardt Stadium last night, ill a boxing bout scheduled for ten rounds, the New Zealander Val Luttrell (12.4) knocked-out Les Brander (11.10) in the fourth round. i' le contest, while it lasted, was one of the most thrilling seen in this stadium. Luttrell is regarded as a promising boy, with excellent prospects.
BARNEY ROSS V. JACK CARROLL.
BIG GUARANTEE FOR AMERICAN. CHICAGO, May 13. Mr. Charles Lucas, boxing promoter, states that Barney Ross, welter-weight champion of the world, has agreed to defend his title against Jack Carroll in Australia. It is understood that Ross has been guaranteed 45,000 dollars, exclusive of Australian income tax.
