CEYLON TEA REPORT.
At the usual weekly sale of Ceylon tea held on the 12th instant the quantity placed under offer amounted to 2% million pounds. Quality was generally improved and most grades were very useful _and above the average. The result of the sale showed a good demand with medium types nuoted at advanced rates. Actual price alterations showed a firm market on common and price broken orange pekoes and an increase of %d per lb on plain 8.0.P.'5, %d per lb on first classic broken pekoes and %d per lb on fine broken orange pekoes. Exchange was quoted at unchanged rates. Next week's sale is expected to total three million pounds.
