HEALTH RETIREMENT.
COLLIERIES SUPERINTENDENT. (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. Mr. I. A. James, superintendent of State collieries, Greymoutli, will retire on superannuation at the end of the present month, after more than 25 years of service with the Mines Department. Tlie retirement is due to health reasons. Mr. James will be succeeded by Mr. C. J. Strongman, inspector of coal mines for the West Coast inspection district.
