GOLD EXPORT.

TAXATION ISSUE RAISED. TO BE FURTHER CONSIDERED. (By Telegrapti. —Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. Replying to a question in the House of Representatives to-day, asked by Mr. W. P. Endean (National, Parnell), the Minister of Mines, Mr. Webb, said he had seen a newspaper report to the effect that Sir Colin Fraser had stated in Auckland that the New Zealand Government would be well advised to abolish the gold export tax. The Minister said that the Government had already considered the question of the abolition of the tax, and the matter would receive further consideration when the Governments taxation and mining legislation was being examined.
