ONEHUNGA FUNERAL. A tribute by League footballers to the Bieniory of Mr. Albert A. Cowan, organiser-secretary of the Manukau Rugby League Club, who collapsed and died after seeing his senior team win at Carlaw Park on Saturday, was paid at the funeral at Onehunga this morning, i There was a large attendance at the | Church of the Assumption, where the | Rev. Father Hyde conducted Requiem 1 Mass, and later officiated at the Mangere Cemetery. The cortege comprised over 50 vehicles. The pall-bearers were Messrs. CI. Love, A. (iauit. S. Watene and 0. Zanovich. The Manukau Club was represented by the president and trustee, Mr. S. W. House, with a cotrustee, Mr. A. Somervell, who also represented the Manukau Cruising Club, of which Mr. Cowan was a vice-presi-dent. Every unit of the Auckland Rugby 'League, including the chairman of the Hoard of Control (Mr. G. Grey Campbell), and the vice-chairman and trustee (Mr. E. J. Phelan) was represented.
