REPLACEMENT RULE. ■ DECISION OF N.Z. COUNCIL. A meeting of the New Zealand Rugby League last evening decided to enforce the non-replacement of players as agreed to at the annual meeting of delegates. The chairman, Mr. C. A. Snedden, said that there was evidently a misunderstanding regarding the application of the rule. Mr. R. Doble said that until official notification had been received, the Auckland League proposed to allow dispensation as understood in past years. Mr. W. J. Davidson said that he understood applications for dispensation had yet to be approved by the affiliated leagues. Mr. Snedden said that it was proposed to carry out the instructions as laid down in the laws of the game. 4 It was decided to inform the Auckland League that the non-replacement rule would be enforced after next Saturday's Congratulations were extended to Messrs. W. O. Carlaw and N. Culpan on their appointment as secretary and treasurer respectively. Mr. Carlaw is commencing hia 16th year as secretary, and the work of both officials was praised by Mr. Snedden.
