JAMAICAN ORANGES.
ARRIVAL OF LAST SHIPMENT.
FUTURE MARKET SUPPLIES. The last of the season's Jamaican oranges arrived in Auckland to-day from the South. A shipment of about ;>BOO cases was brought to Lyttelton by the Tftinui last month, and about ISOO eases have been trans-shipped to Auckland. A small consignment of Cjilifornian oranges will arrive by the Monterey on May 15, and the Ca|>e Horn, which is due about May 21. will bring direct the first of the season's Cook Island oranges. The Cook Island oranges will bo the mainstay for the local markets until the end of August, when, it is anticipated, arrangements will be made for shipments of South Australian oranges. In order to prevent any possible introduction of fruit fly there is an embargo on Australian oranges, but last year this was lifted in the ease of the fruit from South Australia.
