IMPORT OF ITALY'S VICTORY. NEW YORK, May 5. The Ethiopian debacle almost crowds all other news from the front pages or American newspapers. The «*ew York Times" warns the Italians against too much optimism over their victory. "Whether the victory means all that it now seems to mean to the Italian people in their first flush of enthusiasm mU st be left to history to determine, S,ys the paper. "It would be premature S include either that Italy has won a victory which will mean her _real enrichment or that this victory incidentally marks the downfall of the League of Nations. "There is good reason to suppose that the whole eystemof the League must be abandoned, because experience has proved that the League to-day is no stronger than the nations of the woild are prepared to make it. 5
