ONE-LINE SILHOUETTE DRAWINGS.
SKILFUL WORK FROM BUDGETITES. The one-line sketches received this week were good, as much skill was displayed by competitors in their work. There was great variety of subject matter, and some people spared no pains to make quite elaborate sketches, which included pictures of horsemen, fairies, birds and children. In this type of competition, however, the simplest sketch is the best to attempt. A few competitors, although their sketches were of a high standard, lost points because they forgot the rule that no line was intended to cross another line. The best picture was drawn with one continuous line; this was sent in by Ernest Edwards and will be published in our pages. Another such sketch came from Joyce Adams, whose drawing of a little Dutch boy was very good, while a third quaint and wellexecuted sketch of a tree with a bird in its branches and a rabbit sitting on the ground close beside the trunk came from Norma Flett.
