COMING-OF-AGE PARTY
To celebrate the coming-of-age of Misa Edna Shaw, daxighter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Shaw, of Mount Eden, Mrs. A. T. Newdick, of' Goldsmith Eoad, Epsom, gave a most enjoyable dance at her residence. The reception rooms made a lovely background for the young people in their new autumn evening gowns. Hydrangeas and tall spikes of gladioli were arranged in the drawing room, lemon ami yellow decorating the dance room. Primrose and all shades of golden flowers, with high orange lighted crystal candelabra were placed on the beautifully served supper table. During an interlude in dancing Miss Irene Long entertained the guests with two tap dances and Miss Nancy Warren gave two humorous sketches. Mr. P. Cooper supplied the music. The hostess received the guests in ivory flowered taffeta. The guest of honour, Miss Shaw, wore a gown of water lily green chiffon banded round the neck and arms with bands of glistening silver. Mrs. Shaw wore a frock of dusty pink and silver striped lame. Among the guests were: Mrs. S. Ward, Mrs. L. Barranee, Mrs. P. Wilson, Misses Maisie Shaw, Jean Shaw, '. P. Kose, V. Hunt, D. Rawls, J. ■ Condon, A. Jones, E. Hay ward, N. Warren, P. Foley and T. Long
