ME. DUNCAN HALL'S VISIT.

Mr. H. Duncan Hall, a former Australian citizen now on tho League of Nations Secretariat, will arrive at Wellington Oil Wednesday next from Australia, where he has been speaking in the important centres. At the annual meetiiig of the Wellington branch of the League of Nations Union, to be held on Thursday evening next, Mr. Hall will be the principal speaker: his subject, "The. League and the Future." Mr. Hall was educated at Sydney University and, 011 an Australian travelling scholarship, at Balliol College, Oxford (states the "Dominion"). He is the author of ''British Commonwealth of Nations,"_the first book on the new Dominion status, which lias become a standard- text book in many of the univeristies of the Empire. From 1921 to 1920 he. was Australian correspondent of the "Manchester Guardian"; in 1925 leader of the Australian delegation to the first meeting of the Institute of Pacific Relations; and in 1920-27 Professor of International Relations in Syracuse University, United States. In 1927 he was appointed to tho League Secretariat, and he played a leading part in building up tho dangerous drugs work of the League. Ho is now a member of the infol niatiou section of the secretariat, charged in particular with the duty of exercising liaison between the secretariat and the Press and wireless services of the British Dominions.
