GOOD BAGS AT RAIMGIRIRI

TAEROA DISAPPOINTING. Showery and at times boisterous weather greeted sportsmen who staked their claims in various parts of the Auckland Province in readiness for the opening of the shooting season yesterday. Many good bags were taken at Rangiriri and in the North, but there was comparatively little luck at Paeroa.

Limit bags of 15 ducks were frequent at Rangiriri, but were mainly taken in sheltered areas. Waikare, Wliangamarino and Whangape were favourable hunting grounds. It was cold and showery in the Whangarei area, but pheasants, quail and grey duck went down in good numbers.
