NEBUCHADNEZZAR'S DIET.
" A good story is - told on the subject of Nebuchadnezzar's diet of Henry Erskine, a noted wit of a generation or more ago; he was dining with some friends in Edinburgh; among the guests was an old Dr. Mackenzie. On the table was a fine bowl of watercress, and the doctor was picking it out of the bowl and putting it into mouth with his fingers. Erskine, intending to poke fun at the old gentleman, said, "Doctor, do you know that you remind me of NebuThe old man replied, "Ah, do I now, that will be because I am feeding among the. beasts." Sandwiches filled with cress are sometimes called Nebuchadnezzars.
