PRESENTATION.

MR. W» G. WILLIAMS. A presentation to Mr. W. G. Williams, for many years a resident of Henderson, who is leaving the district, was made at a gathering of the Henderson Fruitgrowers' Association on Thursday. The gift was a handsomely mounted and inscribed aneroid barometer.

Mr. Williams was a foundation member of the association when it was established 22 years ago, and has been a prominent member of the executive committee ever since. It was stated that he had been a staunch worker, and had never spared himself in the interests of the fruitgrowing industry.

The speakers who paid a tribute to Mr. Williams' work were Mr. R. Land, president of the association, Mr. Harvey Turner, managing director of Turners and Growers, Ltd., Mr. H. Norcross, chairman of the Henderson Town Board, Mr. F. Firth, president of the Oratia Fruitgrowers' Association, and Mr. H. Paltridge, secretary to the Henderson Association. Mr. Williams, in reply, said he would continue to keep in touch with the fruitgrowing industry. The Henderson Association, he said, was financially one of the strongest fruitgrowers'' associations in the Dominion.
