WEATHER FORECAST.

FOB CITY ANJ> PROVINCE. The Government Meteorologist issued to the "Auckland. Star" this afternoon the following special weather forecast for the Auckland Province to as far south as Tauranga, Kawhia and Hamilton:— Strong south-west winds to gales. Weather cold and boisterous, with heavy showers. Seas high.

A deep depression is centred near Chatham Island, and a series of secondaries continues to cross the Dominion. An intense anti-cyclone covers the greater part of Australia. Hauraki Gulf Conditions. The following report of weather conditions in the Hauraki Gulf was received from Tiritiri Island at noon to-day:— Wind, west-sou'-west, strong; sea, rough; weather, overcast with heavy rain squalls; visibility, fair; barometer, steady. Forecast for Dominion. For 24 hours from. 9 a.m. to-day:— The indications are for southerly winds, strong to gale. The weather will probably prove squally, with heavy showers and cold.
