Business men forecast that the Tariff Commission to-morrow will recommend the summary imposition of a 12 per cent tariff on raw wool imports from Australia.
'file London "Daily Telegraph" Tokyo correspondent says Japan is expected to put a surtax on imports of Australian wool, making it as dear as South
African. Business men say that if this occurs, Japan is likely to buy from South Africa a third of the amount hitherto bought from Australia.
Purchases of wool from New Zealand and wheat from Canada will also be increased.
