FALL IN NOTE ISSUE. RISING LEVEL OF EXCHANGE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. The Reserve Bank return for the week ended Monday, April 27, was gazetted tonight. ■ The statement is balanced at £29,114.053, or £220,511 more than at the close of the previous week. .The fall of the note issue from the high point' of the Easter holiday period continues, there having been a reduction -of £52,730 for the week. Deposits of the State have increased by £396,142, those of the trading banks having fallen by: £157,431. The principal movement 011 the assets side is. an increase of £185,422 in the value of the sterling exchange reserve. All the other items show increases, but in 110 instance of any marked amount.
