LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
ANOTHER SENIOR SIDE.
MANUKAU PROMOTED,
MOUNT ALBERT PLAY NEWTON
To-morrow will lie an auspicious clay for the Auckland Rugby League, wliicii lias four 5 senior contests arranged for Carlaw Park. The promotion of Manukau, besides cutting out the bye, is also noteworthy for the advent to the 13-a-side game of Jack Hemi (Wairarapa) of the Maori Rugby team in Australia last winter.
Among other well-known players to allegiance are: R. Haslam and Rf Aro, both of whom have joined Marist Old Hoys; Frank Paton and E. Morgan, who go to Ponsonby; and Jack 'Rata, South Auckland five-eighth, secured by City Rovers.
. After several years as the star attraction at Carlaw Park, A. E. Cooke has doffed the jersey, and has left Richmond Rovers to coach Ponsonby. The champions, as some compensation, will field ' the two crack South Auckland brothers, Geo. and Walter Tittleton.
The Newton-Mount Albert match has been given pride of place, and will be preceded by the Ponsonby-Riclimond engagement.
On No. 2 ground City and Marist are the contestants, the curtain-raiser there being provided by Devonport and Manukau.
