The 193G Rugby season opens to-morrow with five senior matches, and keener interest than usual centres in the first I series of contests because of the number of players making their debut in Auckland. Although all could not be expected to attain major status at the outset, the following are among the recruits from districts outside the boundaries of the Auckland Rugby Football Union: — Grafton —Rutherford (Taranaki), centre. Marist—Cooney (North Auckland), fiveeighth or centre, returning to his old club. Manukau—C. Brown (Taranaki), forward. Ponsonby—R.
