AFTER MORNING EXERCISE.—Some of the 1200 horses which are always kept in training for the use of pupils of the famous Ecole de Cavalerie, Saumur, Western France, being Watered at the great drinking trough before being returned to the stables. This cavalry school was founded in the second half of the eighteenth century by the Marquis de Poyanne, and its pupils have achieved distinction at horse shows in all ports of the world, many times carrying off the highest honours in the face of fierce competition in the very exacting international jumping events at Olympia, Dublin and other centres.
