FRENCH SLOOP.

TO VISIT AUCKLAND. * DUE HEKE ON MAY 20. News has been received at tlie Devonport Naval Base that the French sloop Savorgnan de Brazza, which is to visit New Zealand, will arrive in Auckland on May 20, and will stay here for a week before proceeding South. The Savorgnan de Brazza, which is a sloop of 2000 tons, -was in Auckland previously three years ago. The present cruise embraces the Pacific Islands, New Zealand and Australia. As far as is known she will come to Auckland direct from Tonga, where she is due in a week's time. From Auckland the sloop will go to Wellington, and thence probably to Australia.
