A FOOTBALLER-YACHTSMAN.
Mr. C. Petley, an old Auckland and Wellington yachtsman, whose victories if totalled would surprise the present day skippers, writes from his home at The Mount, Tauranga, to say that he wishes to pay a tribute to the late Mr. A. J. Griffiths, of Wellington, who was not only an All Black Rugby representative, but ■was an exceptionally clever yachtsman , ™lso fiis late brother Charles They were both well known in Wellington yachting circles and were members of the crew of Mr • Petley's yacht Dauntless, with which he won many races. Mr Petley not only sailed yachts in the early days in Auckland. but built them as well.
