REPERCUSSION OF DEBATE.

Thursday. 4. repcrcussion of the debate oil the Government Railways Amendment Bili. which took place in the House of Representatives before the Easter adjournment, was registered in the House today when Mr. W. J. Poison (National, Stratford) gave notice to ask the Prime Minister whether, having regard to the policy discussed in the Railways Bill and the references of the Minister of Railways to the members of the Raii- [ ways Board who had outside business interests, he would apply the same tape measure to Cabinet, and particularly to the Mines Department, the Minister m chargc of which was largely interested in the sale of New Zealand coal? I Mr. Poison safe! that the Minister in question had recently announced thnf the importation of Australian coil would be prohibited, and presumn v *' that would increase the business of N >> Zealand coal agents.
