LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
MANUKAU CLUB STATUS. BOARD TO CONSIDER. TRIAL SENIOR GAME ARRANGED. The Auckland Rugby League Control Board last evening. with Mr. G. Grey Campbell presiding, dealt -with an application by the Manukau Club for senior status. The request was supported by a deputation consisting of Messrs. F. House (president) and C. Cowan (secretary), and was taken in committee. The application was deferred for urgent consideration. The chairman, congratulating Mr. W. Mincham upon his re-election as the referees' representative on the board, also expressed felicitations to Mr. Mincham upon attaining his twenty-fifth year in the code, which was fortunate in possessing such a valuable official as between the referees and the board. Mr. Mincham suitably acknowledged the compliment. Permission was granted the Ponsonbv and Mount Albert Clubs to hold n trial match on Saturday at Fowlds Park, Mornlngside. A collection is to be taken up in aid of the Ponsonby Club's part in the current Queen Carnival. •i.
