DRY SPELL BROKEN.
Anxiety not yet relieved. (By Telegraph:—Press Association.) INVE RCARGILL, Friday. After a. dry spell steady rain commenced over most of the province at 7 o'clock this evening and was still falling four liours later. If it continues all night the anxiety about the shortage of water at Bluff will be greatly relieved.
However, Mr. D. E. S. Mason, engineer to the Bluff Harbour Board, said that the catchment area had become so parched that a heavy and continuous fall was necessary before an acute shortage of water could be avoided.
