JUNIOR MANAGEMENT.

ANNUAL MEETING AFFAIRS,

Welcoming a large attendance of delegates at the annual meeting of the Auck fand Rugby League junior management at the A.R.L. boardroom last evening, the chairman. Mr. D. Wilkie, also extended a hearty greeting to Mr. Harold Waimsley, the well-known supporter and donor ot trophies, who, in ic-cent years had been mostly seen as an invalid at Car law Park and at Rugby League gatherings. Mr. Wilkie said it was a pleasure for all to see Mr. Waimsley up and about and able to take a more active part in affairs. The lengthy report said that re grade teams and players of 1030 were equal to those of any previous j ear, and the progress made augured well for the future of the code in this district. Ihe chairman and officers of the executive had worked harmoniously and enthusiastically. The senior B grade had been successfully inaugurated. Registered players numbered I'aoq r.f whicli 810 were in wcigtttcd grades. There were 56 teams. The following clubs were congratulated on winning championships: Otaliuhu, senior B (Sharman Cun) ; Richmond, second grade (Hay ward Shield) ; Ponsonby, third grade tWalker Cup) ; Glen Ora, fourth grade (Hospital Cup) ; Ricnmond A, fifth grade (Endean Shield) ; Richmond, sixth grade (Rhodes Shield) ; Richmond, seventh grade (Mvers Cup). The usual knock-out competUions were staged, the fourth grade beine so large that it was decided to award the winners of the second round the knockout honours The following wore winners: Papakura, senior B; Richmond, second grade (Poster Shield) ; Ponsonby, third grade (Murray Cup) ; Newton and Glen Ora fourth grade (Kiwi Shield) , Rich mond A, fifth grade (Milicich Cup); K chmond, sixth grade (HamrniU Cup) , mond, seventh grade (Oval , Shield). A snpoial round was played in both the senior B and seventh grades, for the Waimsley Shields, which were won by Papakura and Richmond respectively. The Davis iolnts Shield again went to the Richmond Club, with City In second place. Sc-veral junior teams were given permission to travel to play outside teams, whilst teams fro™ Northland juniors and Ngaruawahia played curtain-raiser games at Carlaw lark and were enthusiastically received. Speaking to the report, which was adopted, Mr. Wilkie personally congratulated members upon their work and particularly referred to the secretary, Mr. W. F. Clarke, who had proved a worthy successor to Mr. Tom Davis. There were twelve nominations for the nine seats on the junior board and the sealed vote of the affiliated clubs resulted in the return of the 1935 members as follows: Messrs. D. Wilkie (chairman), B. Chapman, T. Chermside, A. Hopkinson, T. Care™ I. Stones, R. Short, G.
