BLAZE IN DARK-ROOM.
GOOD SAVE BY CITY BRIGADE. About £50 worth of photographic sundries and general equipment were lost, and the lining of the roof of the building was scorched when a fire occurred in a phonographic dark-room on the second floor of the premises of the New Zealand Sporting and Dramatic ReView, Ltd., in O'Connell Street, about 10.15 o'clock last evening.
When the City Fire Brigade was summoned flames wero leaping from the windows above the street. The brigade, however, was quickly on the scene, and the flames were extinguished in less than three minutes. Prompt as had been the save, the dark-room had been gutted. It was remarkable, in the circumstances, that - a number of valuable process cameras, situated about 20ft from the seat of the fire, escaped damage. A large crowd was attracted by tho dense clouds of smoke given off by the burning of celluloid films, but it was dispersed when it was realised that the fire was only a minor one.
