INFORMAL PICTURE OF KING EDWARD Vlll.—This photograph was taken in 1919 during His Majesty's first visit to Western Canada as Prince of Wales. The duck- . hunting lodge at Lake Manitoba was a quarter of a mile from the boats, and Indian guides had to break a channel through the ice for the party's boats at 5 a.m. After being refreshed and Warmed by a cup of hot coffee and sandwiches, arranged by the photographer, His Majesty remarked "You may now take your shot," with the above result.
