ROXY AND TIVOLI,

A fine assortment of new tunes, combined with a rollicking plot and a capable cast, are said to provide an hour o£ lively entertainment in "Ship Cafe," . which, comes to the Rosy and Tivoli Theatres to-morrow. Telling of the experiences and adventures of a singing stoker who becomes "thrower-out" at a waterfront night club, a singing star and a countess' gigolo respectively, "Ship Cafe" presents the popular musical comedy star Carl Brisson in a new type of role. The story starts off at a lively pace: Brisson gets into a fight on his ship and lands in gaol in America. On his release he accepts an offer of a position in a night club. By a lucky chance he is able to sing one night, and becomes a sensation. He makes the place and himself still more popular when he knocks out a champion boxer who is a guest. Then he becomes a gigolo in the "swanky" part of the town, and gets into many laughable situations, to be welcomed back to the sea again in a hilarious finale. The second film, "Another Face," is said to be an excellent comedydrama with a novel plot, fast action and many funny situations. There _ are many tense and thrilling sequences in a 6tory of a ganster who acquires a fortune and changes his appearance by means of plastic surgery. He kills the doctor and goes to Hollywood and becomes engaged in a minor role as a gangster in a film studio. He is recognised, and a series of thrilling events follow. In the cast are Wallace j Ford, Brian Donlevy and Phyllis Brooks.
