VAUDEVILLE SEASON.
Fresh revue entertainment is promised at His Majesty's Theatre 011 Saturday afternoon and night, when Stanley McKay's vaudeville company, "The Gaieties of 1936," is to cfpen its Auckland season with ''Something New." Advance reports from Australia, and more tecently from Christchurch, Duuedin and Wellington, hail it as a fine variety show. One of the specialities is that of Reno's informing Dogs, a team of animals that 0.111 apparently do anything but talk. Until actually seen one could scarcely credit iniat they can play leading roles in sketches, waltz, . and fox-trot with rag dol! vartners, skip, ascend ladders as young gins and descend as old ladies, etc. Allot.V;r offering is the adagio dancing of Patricia and Colin. Step, tap and ballroom dancing is featured by Jerry and Phyllis. "The Alexanders" present a wonderful exhibiion of hand balancing and tumbling, and Elvy Ferguson, solo violinist, makes a decided "hit" -with her numbers. Comedy predominates, with Ike Delavale leading the revels, assisted by Joe Rox, Maggie Buckley and Geo. Corelli, a trio of clever Australian fun-makers. Song scenes are intepreted by Winnie Hdgerton (soprano) and Russell Callow (tenor), backed up. by the "Gaieties" ballet and Mav Brooke's ■orchestra.
