WHANGAREI, this day.

Nearly 6000 people were present at Kensington Park on Saturday afternoon to see the concluding events of the Whangarei Agricultural and Pastoral Society's diamond jubilee show. The gate takings for the two days totalled £219, as compared with £93 last year.

The horse sections provided the chief events of the day, and there was a fine entry in all divisions. The champion hack, Miss M. Sloane!s Absent, and Mrs. V. Donaldson's cob Nesta were among the outstanding animals. Mr. S. Austin Carr, president of the Auckland Metropolitan Agricultural and Pastoral Association, commended highly the riding of the boys and girls.
