NATIVES IN HOSPITAL.
MOTOR TRUCK CAPSIZES

WHAKATANE, this day.
When a truck carrying several natives skidded and capsized in loose metal on a straight stretch of the Taneatua Road on Saturday evening Willy MeAitfey was knocked unconscious ajuF thrown into a deep ditch. Peter Paul, the driver, escaped unhurt, but his small son received a cut on one ear and, with Mr. McAuley, was taken to hospital. The accident happened about 7.30 o'clock near Mr. Black's farm, when "the truck was being driven into Whakatane. It is stated that the vehicle skidded in loose metal and became out of control, possibly turning over twice before coming to rest again on its wheels with its forepart in a ditch and the cab badly smashed. '
