LEAGUE FOOTBALL.

DEVONPORT UNITED CLUB. SIXTEENTH ANNUAL MEETING. "This club has a fine tradition in Rugby League football and I and other members feel sure, that Devonport United will again loom prominently in the big prospects that are ahead of our game this season," said Mr. A. Ferguson, president of tlie club, at the annual meeting held last evening. The sixteenth report expressed gratitude for the continued playing strength and other support given the club, whose two top teams played creditably, but unsuccessfully for honours. Medals were won a", follows: Reserve grade, T. Hamill; third grade, A. Rowlesland ; fifth grade, J. Smith ; sixth grade, R. Blythen; schoolboys, T. Drought and M. Charlton. Lengthy reference was made to the fine play of the Devonport schoolboys, who. after just failing to win the championship, went on to take the knock-out honours. Mr. Matt. Scott was thanked for his coaching and a similar tribute was paid to Mr. E. Johnson for his services given' to the senior reserve team. Officers were elected as follows :—Patron, Captain A. W. D. Mellldejohn ; vice-patron, Messrs. E. Keely and .T. Donald ; president, Mr,. A. Ferguson ; vice-presidents, same as last yoar, with Messrs. E. H. Scott, L. Watson and J. Oliver; secretary and treasurer, Mr. M. Coghlan; club captain, Frank Bolger: school committee delegate, Mr. W. Aughton; executive committee, Messrs. N. Langton, M. Scott, H. Mann, A. W. Seagar, H. Gerrard and P. Foster. Mr. W. F. Clarke., secretary of the junior management committee, who was accompanied by Mr. Ivan Stonex, also a member of tlie junior board, addressed the meeting on junior policy matters. Ten new players were nominated and welcomed, including R. Hollows (ex-North Auckland Rugby Union rep. forward), J. Shepherd (ex-Hutt Rugby Union forward), and N. Parkinson (ex-Point Chevalier Club). It was decided to hold the first official training for teams on March 19. A suggestion to form a supporters' club at an early date was discussed.

OTAHUHU CLUB,

The attendance at last «vening's annual meeting of the Otahuhu League Football Club wag easily the best for a number of years. Mr. J. Clark occupied the* chair, and congratulated members upon the results achieved by the different grade teams in last season's competitions. The financial position of the club as disclosed by the balapce-sheet was highly satisfactory. Considerable discussion took place upon the allocation of the local playing area, and this question was referrc 1 to the incoming committee. The meeting decided to nominate teams in the senior B, third intermediate, fourth grade, fifth grade and schoolboys' competitions. Officers elected : —Patron, Mr. \Y, W. Massey; president, Mr. J. Nicholson; vicepresidents, same as last year, with the addition of Messrs. W. Speedy and W. Baxter, with power to add; chairman, Mr. •Tim Clark; secretary, Mr. W. Hart; treasurer, Mr. W. Bright; committee, Messrs. W. McManus, J. Graham, W. Gordon, M. Clark, Trevena, W. Whitelaw, M. Ritchie, W. Lockhart, C. Finlqyson.
