BOY DROWNED.
TRAGEDY AT POLLOK. BATHING WITH BROTHER. CARRIED BEYOND DEPTH. Leon James, aged six, son of a wellknown settler at Pollok, near Waiuku, was drowned while bathing in the Manukau Harbour at Pollok about one o'clock this afternoon. With a younger brother, he was bath,ing in shallow water near the shore, when both boys suddenly found themselves beyond their depth in a channel. The younger boy was rescued by people on the beach, who saw that the two were in difficulties, but Leon disappeared and so far the body has not been recovered. Constable Henry, of Waiuku, left immediately to search for the body.
