The Rev. and Mrs. C. G. Scrimgeour arrived this morning by the Limited express. Sir Maynard and Lady Hedstrom, of Suva, arrived at Auckland yesterday by the Monterey. Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Milne returned to Auckland yesterday after a holiday visit to California. Dr. A. McGregor Grant and Dr. C. t Ring returned this morning from Welt lington by the Limited express. Mr. T. C. A. Hislop, Mayor of Welling- } ton, has been reappointed a member of the Board of Health for three years. Mr. L. J. Amore, sub-editor of the "Waikato Times," Hamilton, left yes- ■ terday for Sydney on a holiday visit. I Mr. Alan Nisbet, of Dunedin, has taken up a position in the Dental Clinic of the Wellington Hospital. The Rev. G. C. Reay, who has been in charge of the Mornington Baptist Church, Dunedin, for the past four years, has accepted a call to the Hamilton Baptist "Church. Messrs. W. J. Lyon, M.P. for Waitemata, and J. A. Lee, Parliamentary Under-Secretary to the Prime Minister, arrived in Auckland this morning. Mr. George Dryden, advertising manager of the "Southland News" sports .special, Invercargill, accompanied by Mrs. Dryden, is on a brief visit to Auckland. They are staying at the Waverley Hotel. Dr. G. F. McCleary, a retired member ' of the medical profession .in England, will visit the Dominion next month. Dr. McCleary has been prominent in the administration of the British national health insurance scheme. Dr. 11. A. Lochore, M.A., Ph.D., has received notice of his appointment to the position of language master at Scot's College, Wellington. Dr. Lochore was educated in Auckland and Welling-
